RICHLAND CENTER, Wis (WRCO / WRCE) – There are lots of events happening this weekend throughout southwest Wisconsin.

Thursday, March 6

Vernon County Human Services Department will assist individuals with Power of Attorney for Healthcare documents the first Thursday of each month from 9:00 to Noon at the Aging & Disability Resource Center of Vernon County. To make an appointment call 608-637-5201 or 1-888-637-1323.

A blood drive will be held Thursday, March 6, from 9:30 to 2:30 at St. Cecilia Parish Center in Wisconsin Dells. Appointments are preferred by using the Red Cross Blood Donor App, visiting RedCrossBlood.org or call 1-800-RED CROSS (1-800-733-2767).

Celebrate Recovery -RC meets every Thursday night from 6:00 to 8:00 at the Nazarene Outreach Center in Richland Center. Food is available starting at 5:30. Celebrate Recovery – Richland Center is sponsored by Grace Community Church.

Shake Rag Alley’s Winter Writers Reading Series in March will host winning writers from Wisconsin People & Ideas, Arts + Literature Laboratory, and the Wisconsin Writers Association Thursdays at 6:00. March 6 via Zoom will feature Patty Cisneros Prevo. March 13 will feature Bob Wake and March 20 will feature Katharine Beutner and Emma Binder at Republic of Letters Books. 

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints offers a free course to anyone who wants to learn English. The class runs from 7:00 to 8:00 PM every Thursday and from 11:00 until Noon every Saturday at the Church located on Executive Lane in Richland Center. For more information, call (262) 893-3763. Friday, March 7

The Richland County Highway Department will be posting weight restrictions on all county roadways beginning Friday, March 7. Weight restrictions will be enforced on all county roadways beginning Monday, March 10. Posting will begin on County Highway A and extend to all county roads.

St. Mary’s School and the Knights of Columbus will host a Drive Through Fish Fry Friday, March 7, in St. Mary’s School Parking Lot from 4:30 to 7:00. The menu will include two pieces of fish, potato, coleslaw, applesauce, and garlic biscuit. The cost of the meal is $12 with the option to add up to 3 extra pieces of fish for $2 each.

St. Luke Church in Plain will serve a family style fish fry Friday, March 7, from 5:00 to 8:00. Carry-outs will also be available.

Break bread with community members at a free community meal each Friday at 5:30 at the Other Door in Viroqua, Vernon County’s Drop In Center.

Saturday, March 8

The 13th Annual Food Fair & Farmers Market will be held Saturday, March 8, from 9:00 to 1:00 at Sacred Heart School gym in Reedsburg.

The Boaz Boosters 4-H Club will host a Euchre Card Party Saturday, March 8, at 7:00 at the Boaz Community Center. There will be a $5 entry fee with prizes awarded. Food will also be available.

Sunday, March 9

Rehearsals will begin for the Muscoda Community Band in March. Rehearsals will be held Sunday, March 9, 23, and 30, and April 6 at 1:00 in the Riverdale High School Band Room. The concert will be held Sunday, April 13, at 1:00 in the Riverdale High School Gym.

Mike Block, a Grammy® Award-Winning multi-style cello player, composer, singer, and educator, will be the featured artist at the Taliesin House Concert on Sunday, March 9, from 2:00 to 4:00. A reception will follow with the artist. Tickets are $95 per person, and can be purchased at taliesinpreservation.org/events/
