Brad Schultz of the Department of Transportation has provided an update on the Highway 14 construction project in Richland Center:
Stage 2 work is nearing final completion. This week (May 28 & 29), new road base will be installed on Peebles Drive, restricting the intersection width, and concrete patches will begin from Bohmann Drive to State Highway 80.

Mainline paving starts June 1 on Bohmann Drive and continues east towards County O, aiming for completion by June 5th or 6th. Paving operations are 6 AM to 6 PM daily, and potential evening concrete sawing will be required for expansion joints.

A major traffic shift is still scheduled for early July. Michel’s (paving subcontractor) and H James (prime contractor) will coordinate driveway openings with all businesses and residents.

Please ensure safety by giving crews space and maintaining traffic flow – slowing to watch construction is extremely dangerous.
