The Recombobulation Area is proud to be a publication based in the city of Milwaukee. Every year since our inception, we have celebrated “Milwaukee Day,” the delightful homegrown holiday celebrating the 4-1-4 on April 14 (4/14).
This truly phenomenal made-up holiday was born in 2010 as a half-joking idea between friends Andy Silverman, Brent Gohde, and Timm Gable. In the years since, Milwaukee Day has grown to become a signature celebration in a city that loves to celebrate.
This year, we’re joining the celebration, too. We are hosting a LIVE PODCAST at Anodyne Coffee’s Walker’s Point Roastery, 224 W. Bruce St., Milwaukee, WI 53204.
The event will feature Angela Lang, co-executive director of Black Leaders Organizing for Communities (and a regular Recombobulation Area contributor), Matt Wild, co-founder of Milwaukee Record, and Dan Shafer, founding editor of The Recombobulation Area.
The event runs from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, April 14. It is free — that’s right, free! — to attend.
This live podcast will also feature some special guests, including Milwaukee Day founder Andy Silverman and 414 Day Executive Director Mocha Harris.
