Stop the Billionaire Giveaway bus tour visits Oshkosh
OSHKOSH, WI—(WISS)— Fair Share America and Unrig Our Economy are traveling the country in the Stop the Billionaire Giveaway Bus Tour, rallying against the budget bill running through the U.S. Congress.
The tour stopped in Oshkosh on Monday, visiting Riverside Park.

Stop the Billionaire Giveaway
Kristen Crowell is the executive director of Fair Share America. She told a crowd of about three dozen people that the reconciliation bill before the Senate cuts billions of dollars in Medicaid and SNAP benefits. But she claimed that on Monday, Senator Ron Johnson (R-WI) filed an amendment to the bill to cut the programs even further.
“In the last several hours, Senator Johnson has offered an amendment that would cut Medicaid even deeper, by 330 billion more dollars,” she said. “That brings the total people that are facing losing healthcare in this country to up to 20 million American people.”

Dr. Danae Steele, an OB-GYN in the Fox Valley, spoke to the thousands of women who will be without prenatal care if Medicaid is gutted, while urging people to call their lawmakers to oppose the bill.
“Senator Johnson loves to claim he’s an everyday Wisconsinite who went to Washington to fight for hard-working families. But if that were true, we wouldn’t be standing here in his own hometown urging him not to rip healthcare away from his neighbors just to hand billionaires another tax break.”

The Stop the Billionaire Giveaway bus tour continues through July 14th as it heads toward the West Coast. It will visit towns and cities with rallies, town halls, and roundtables.
In addition to the Oshkosh stop, the tour also stopped in Racine on Monday. Today it visits LaCrosse before moving on to the rest of the country.
