WISCONSIN (CIVIC MEDIA) – A proposal for an earlier trout season has gained tremendous support, officials say.
Following the Wisconsin Conservation Congress and Department of Natural Resources’ (DNR) annual spring hearing, in which over 9,000 residents provided their input, representatives from the hearing said there was a significant desire to begin trout season earlier in the spring.
One proposal sought to move the beginning of the season to the first Saturday of April instead of early May – about a one-month difference. The lengthened period would give anglers more time to get out of the water.
