
Armed robbery in Vernon county results in juvenile arrest
The caller provided the 911 dispatcher with a detailed description of the suspect who was last seen on foot.
VERNON COUNTY, Wis (WRCO / WRCE) – A juvenile was arrested following an armed robbery.
The Vernon County Sheriff’s Office 911 Dispatch Center received a call from an employee at a convenience store in Genoa Monday morning around 10 a.m. The caller reported that a male entered the store, pointed a firearm at the clerk, and demanded money. The employee complied and the male left without further incident.
The caller provided the 911 dispatcher with a detailed description of the suspect who was last seen on foot. That information was provided to law enforcement who, within approximately five minutes of the initial call, located a juvenile male, age 15, matching the description given by the caller. A firearm and money were located and the teen was taken into custody.
The teen was turned over to juvenile authorities and remains in custody. The incident remains under investigation by the Sheriff’s Office.
Assisting the Vernon County Sheriff’s Office were the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources and Vernon County Department of Human Services.
