Three Justices, one Justice-elect endorses Chris Taylor for 2026 state Supreme Court bid

MADISON, Wis (CIVIC MEDIA) – Judge Chris Taylor’s 2026 Wisconsin Supreme Court campaign has officially been endorsed by three court Justices and the Justice-elect.

In a news release from Judge Taylor’s office, she confirmed that sitting Justices Rebecca Dallet, Jill Karofsky, and Janet Protasiewicz will support her bid. Justice-elect Susan Crawford, who will be inaugurated August 1, 2025, has also endorsed Taylor.

Judge Taylor expressed her appreciation for the Justices’ support in a statement:

“Justices Dallet, Karofsky, Protasiewicz, and Justice-elect Crawford have all dedicated their lives to protecting the rights of Wisconsinites and strengthening our justice system by ensuring our courts are fair and impartial. I’m honored to have earned their endorsements and look forward to the opportunity to speak with people across Wisconsin about why we need to reinforce this pro-democracy, pro-freedom majority on the Court,”

The three Justices, as well as the Justice-elect, elaborated on their decision to endorse Taylor:

• Justice Rebecca Dallet – “Judge Taylor knows and understands Wisconsin. She has always made sure her courtroom is a place where everyone in Wisconsin can receive a fair hearing, and have their constitutional rights and freedoms protected. Chris Taylor is exactly the type of judge we need on the Wisconsin Supreme Court and I’m proud to support her in this race.”
• Justice Jill Karofsky – “I have known Chris Taylor for years and have always admired her hard work both in our community and on the bench. I was excited to see her succeed me on the Circuit Court, because I knew she would make sure everyone who appeared before her was treated with fairness, dignity and respect. Judge Taylor will be a tremendous addition to the Wisconsin Supreme Court, where I know she will work to protect the constitutional rights of all Wisconsinites.”
• Justice Janet Protasiewicz – “Judge Chris Taylor has a deep commitment to public service and has always understood the real-world impact of how judicial decisions affect people. She’s a champion for access to the justice system, and she will always protect our fundamental constitutional rights. I’m excited to stand with Judge Taylor in this campaign, and look forward to working with her on the Wisconsin Supreme Court.”
