
Racine Courthouse, Oak Creek Power Plant Celebrate Hatching of Wisconsin Peregrine Falcons
RACINE, Wis (Civic Media) – Three peregrine falcon chicks have hatched in the Racine County Courthouse nest box, officials announced this week.

The chicks’ parents are a male with no name tag and a new female, Teca, who hatched in 2019 in Indiana. Community members are invited to suggest names for the new arrivals.
Meanwhile, in Oak Creek, the first peregrine falcon eggs of the 2025 season hatched at the We Energies Power Plant on Friday, May 2. Parents Essity and Joel welcomed two chicks in their first year nesting together, are two more eggs are expected to hatch soon.
The public can vote to name the Oak Creek chicks after legendary falcons from the program’s history, with voting open until Thursday, May 8.
