PLEASANT PRAIRIE, Wis. (Civic Media) – A $3 billion dollar deal is done in Kenosha County. Eli Lilly and Co. has secured final approval from Pleasant Prairie’s Plan Commission for its $3 billion expansion of the former Nexus Pharmaceuticals facility.
The vote Monday night clears the way for contractors to get permits. The project involves adding a three-story office and manufacturing space of 54,166 square feet, along with a single-story warehouse of 13,940 square feet featuring four dock doors.
Eli Lilly acquired the 84,000-square-foot facility in April 2024 to boost its injectable manufacturing network.
The expansion is expected to create 750 jobs in Kenosha County. The company aims to meet growing demand for its diabetes, obesity, and future pipeline medicines.
