The interview began with an introduction to both Paige and Kevin Baker. Both musicians got their start at a young age with choir and band in school. Kevin took the time to list out how he proceeded from drums to eventually the piano, and Paige has always loved to sing. Paige even commented about not being able to read music personally and just being impressed by the rest of the band’s abilities often.

“Don’t stop, don’t ever stop playing music.” – Paige Baker

Malouf then asked the duo why Christmas, to which Kevin replied, who doesn’t love Christmas. Then Kevin added that everyone has at least a few songs they hold dear, and the band tries their best to include those along with their original pieces in the show. Each year they update the setlist and incorporate other classics and original numbers to keep the show different each year. Paige Baker explained that the original songs are usually about family. One noteworthy song called “Give Me One More Christmas With You” which was penned in honor of aging grandparents. Other original songs are about Kevin and Paige’s daughter, and other close family members. When James mentioned the inclusion of the Assumption High school choir Paige made a point to encourage each of those kids to keep music alive with them.
