GREEN BAY, WI – (WGBW) – Zee Best Foods, Inc. of Green Bay has issued a voluntary “Class I” recall of two products: Chili John’s Meat Sauce and Chili John’s Chili with Spaghetti and Beans Super Bowl.
The Wisconsin Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection (DATCP) issued a press release this week. It says wholesalers distributed the products and the products may still be on retail shelves throughout the state.
Chili John’s recalled products
The affected products have a Wisconsin inspection mark “No. 545.” The products include the following varieties and sizes.
- Chili John’s Meat Sauce
- 8 oz. and 16 oz. containers
- Lot codes: 2551, 2621, and 2631
- Chili John’s Chili with Spaghetti and Beans Super Bowl
- 14 oz. containers
- All flavors – mild, medium, hot, and extra-hot
- Lot code: 2661
DATCP says routine inspection activities showed that the products were produced with temperature deviations or without temperature control records.
No illnesses have been reported as a result of consuming these products. Anyone with signs or symptoms of a foodborne illness should contact their doctor. Consumers who have these products should discard them. If you have questions about the recall call Zee Best Foods at (920) 336-8713.
