Rick Schlesinger, President of Business Operations, Milwaukee Brewers
Schlesinger shares how the Brewers’ underdog status has fueled their surprising success.
“Is that what makes this season stand out?” Nee asks.
“At the beginning of April, most of the national media counted us out,” Schlesinger says. “Despite losing key players and facing uncertainty, the team rose above expectations, creating a culture of resilience and belief. Veterans like Willy Adames and Reece Hoskins have led by example They drive home the value of team chemistry and grit, with younger players like Jackson Chourio emerging as pivotal contributors.”
Schlesinger also tells Nee, he was awestruck by the recent drive-through pep rally in conjunction with the sale of postseason tickets.
“We had cars lined up as early as 4 am,” he explains. “Thousands showed up to celebrate, joined by icons like Donald Driver and Robin Yount. It reinforces the strong bond between the fans and the team.”
And the Brewers official is optimistic. Schlesinger says with a fervent fanbase behind them and postseason games on the horizon, everyone should embrace this journey.
“Our team has proven, the whole is greater than the sum of its parts,” Schlesinger says. “No matter the challenges, we have a deep bench of talent ready to take us to the finish line.”
