MILWAUKEE, Wis (WAUK) — The Milwaukee Homeless Veterans Initiative (MHVI) is facing a shortage of supplies, potentially impacting the food pantry that serves over 100 veterans and their families weekly.
In response, a virtual goods drive has been organized to restock the pantry’s shelves with non-perishable items and essential household goods. Supporters can contribute by purchasing items from an Amazon wish list titled “Milwaukee Homeless Veterans Initiative Pack The Truck.”
For those preferring monetary donations, contributions can be made via Venmo to @forMHVI. Organizers plan a major shopping trip next week and will share the results on social media.
Founded in 2008, MHVI is a veteran-run nonprofit dedicated to helping homeless and at-risk veterans in Southeastern Wisconsin regain independence. The organization offers unique programs to fill crucial service gaps, working alongside the Veterans Administration and Wisconsin Department of Veterans Affairs.
As a 501(c)(3) organization, MHVI relies entirely on donations to sustain its mission.
