MADISON, Wis. (WMDX) – Wisconsin Gov. Tony Evers signed four bills into law on Monday, the Governor’s Office announced.
Wisconsin Act 5, formerly Assembly Bill 65, expands water conservation efforts by adding producer-led groups to the eligibility list for lake and river protection grants from the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources.
“Farmers and producers are leading the way on some of our water conservation efforts because they know firsthand the value of clean water and fruitful land,” Evers said. “I am glad to be signing this bipartisan bill today to expand opportunities for more producers to access this program so we can work together to improve surface water quality across the state.”
Wisconsin Act 6, formerly Senate Bill 13, ends the land recycling loan program that hasn’t had an application in 15 years and sends its fund balance to the clean water fund program. Wisconsin Act 7, formerly Senate Bill 36, eliminates certain requirements for the Wisconsin Department of Tourism and also eliminates financial auditing requirements for the nonprofit Wisconsin Professional Golf Association Junior Foundation, Inc. Wisconsin Act 8, formerly Assembly Bill 94, gets rid of law exceptions for Tax Incremental District 2 in the Village of Pleasant Prairie.
