Max Ink Radio, Civic Media’s weekly music show dedicated to showcasing and promoting local artists from all over Wisconsin, welcomed singer-songwriter Jenna Jane into the Devil’s Lair for a very special solo acoustic performance on Saturday. She’s currently promoting the release of her new EP Nine Lives, hitting streaming services June 3rd and currently available on CD pre-order through her website.

Jenna, a native of Madison residing in Eagle River—but traveling all over—stopped by the WMDX studio with her road-tested, whiskey-stained white Rancher Falcon Gretsch guitar. She regaled the hosts with the kinds of stories that only an experienced touring musician can tell, enchanting the listening audience along the way with songs that showcased her rock-country guitar style, powerful voice and thoughtful, at times provocative, lyrics.

She began performing as a young teenager with her uncle’s band, later forming the band Prom Queen Rejects. She launched her solo career after gaining more experience in the music scene shortly thereafter. She’s as hard-working a musician as they come, traveling from Wisconsin to Tennessee in the U.S., recently debuting on the international stage in Cancun, México for Countryfest in 2022. She is also an Official Nominee for Female Rising Star of the Year in the 9th Annual Josie Music Awards.

The set list from Saturday night’s performance included acoustic versions from her debut album, Knew Me When, along with the radio world premiere of “Burns Like You Do” from the upcoming Nine Lives. Starting with the feisty “Trainwreck” followed by her meditative and soulful first-ever single “Faded,” all the way through to the upbeat “Dive Bar” as the final track, this hour-long segment is a must-listen for country music fans in Wisconsin and beyond.
